  • Civil War Soldiers information is included in the 1865 Census LDS film 556597, Parishville, Madrid, Massena, Norfolk, Morristown, Oswegatchie [records for all other towns destroyed by fire]. After every 3 or so pages of regular census info, there are summary pages listed special cases (deaf, blind, idiotic)and soldiers and sailors. At the end of each town there is a more complete set of soldier info including whether wounded, type of wound, where buried if dead, whether in good health and more. [This census is also available in paper form at the St. Lawrence county clerk?s office in Canton, NY].
